COOK FREE PUREES – PEEL BLEND EAT

Paediatricians usually recommend that you start offering solid foods when your baby reaches six months old. Some babies may be ready as early as four months old. More studies have shown that 4 – 6 months is the most optimal window period to reduce your baby’s chances of developing a food allergy.

Here are simple first food fruit puree recipes that you can make fresh without cooking.

Avocado Puree
Halve a ripe avocado, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Add to a blender. Blend, adding breastmilk, formula, or water if needed or desired to thin. Serve immediately.

Banana Puree
Look for bananas that are blemish-free and have a nice yellow colour. Peel banana and slice. Place on a board or large bowl.

Blend until desired consistency is reached

Mango Puree
Wash mangoes and remove the flesh. Add the mango flesh to a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Mangoes should be ripe and soft to make good mango puree.
